the reason Latvia qualified ahead of better songs was basically because they were dressed as pirates and had an immediate chorus which grabbed the drunk/ child vote . their national final performance was much better . it may well grab the Verka vote in the final .Chuffed Albania got through ,she sold the song brilliantly . best other performances ,Ukraine and Portugal . if Vania hadnt qualified we may have seen a riot in the hall .Glad Turkey got through with a no frills rock song ,only real disappointing qualifier for me was Denmark with a song slighter than Ms Pirellis waist .
